Sail Date: Jun 2015

My husband and I took 11 Night Aegean Sea Exploration Cruise, from 1 - 12 June 2015 with the ship The Rhapsody of the Seas. Apart of wanting to visit some of the Greek Islands and few Western Turkish Coast towns, our main intention was to see Ephesus, in particular The Library of Celsus. In this respect, we have paid the tour through our travel agent the very same day when we paid the cruise.

On the 1 June when we entered to our stateroom which was very small, there were cans of coke and sprite and chips, on the makeup table. The room did not have a fridge. All of a sudden a waiter came with a bottle of champagne. He said it was from the captain of the ship. When I asked do we have to pay for this, he confirmed that the amount will be deducted from our credit card. Then I requested to remove the champagne, and also cans of coke and sprite, and chips because the room was small and we needed to place our cosmetics on the makeup table. I have also requested to have additional cover.

In the meantime, we were required to follow the steps to participate at the safety measures presentation. We were guided to a specific deck where we stood in rows and listened to safety measures. Although I am tall, I could not see anything that was presented. What was the purpose to go to the presentation when majority of travelers could not see it?

Port Reviews

Bodrum

Enjoyed it every moment spent there

Rhodes

I have been in Rhodes before and always have great time

Athens (Piraeus)

I have been many times before in both Athens and Piraeus. This time I intended to stay in Piraeus, but because of insufficient available information of what is available and what is not offshore, I wasted most of my time

Mykonos

In the Travel Summary it was clearly noted that in Mykonos we were going to have tendering. But the night before arriving to Mykonos we were informed that the ship was going to deck. At the Customer Counter we were told that the only way to reach the Mykonos village from the port was to pay US$15 per person for return ticket, which we did. To our surprise, when we went out of the ship there was a huge announcement that travel (return ticket) to Mykonos village organized by locals was €2 (equivalent to US$2.20).
