This is not really a cruise. The boat doesn't leave Bordeaux until Monday lunchtime and you are back by Thursday. Tours involve lengthy bus journeys. The staff aboard the Forseti are brilliant and very helpful. Unfortunately when we moored at Liborne there was another boat moored between us and the shore. To get off the boat you had to climb up to the sun deck and over the other boat and down their steps to get to the gangplank. The less mobile were therefore trapped onboard. This happened again at another stop too. You need to be as fit as a butchers dog to do this cruise, something Viking do not tell you at the time of booking. There are far better cruises available than this one.

Cabin size is tiny, we had the French Balcony stateroom. There was barely room to walk round the bed. Nowhere to sit but on the bed. The lunchtime menus were disappointing. We had much better food on our previous Rhine cruise. The wines we were served were average, nothing special. The wine tasting onboard was a joke. Three cheap wines that tasted like vinegar. 'They are a little young' we were told.
