We have cruised many times before and are also used to the North Sea because we live close by.

As we left Harwich the Captain advised that the crossing to Norway was going to be rough - it turned out to be one of the worst journeys we have had although we have travelled in much bigger seas. We understand this was exacerbated by the lack of stabilisers on this older ship.

The ship is old and in need of attention. The toilets in the Lido are ( for example) in very poor condition. Our balcony cabin on deck 10 was spacious and appeared clean. The bathroom includes a bath. We returned to the cabin one day to find the bath contained a few inches of dirty water containing lots of gunge due to the drains backing up. Eventually plumbers sorted this but we had to ask for the bath to be cleaned. Later that evening water flushing the toilet and coming from tap was discoloured. Read more
