My wife and I were tired of cruising on mega ships in ports where the shopping frenzy was only exceeded by the amount of people you had to push through to walk down a street. We decided on trying a small ship experience and chose a Chateaux and Wine cruise. Cruising on a river was an interesting experience in itself. Instead of hitting a gigantic port or waiting for your number to be called for a tender, we would pull up to a simple floating dock; no muss no fuss. We loved the excursions and the expertise of the guides and the all-inclusiveness of the cruise price. It was far preferable to the mega ships trying to sell you something every minute you were onboard. The relaxed, non pressure atmosphere onboard and the food service were all beyond our expectations.

Overall, we will definitely be planning another river cruise in the future.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

The room was quite comfortable. We traveled with another couple who booked a suite. While we might consider a balcony cabin next time, it more than met our needs even if it was a foot above the water line.

Port Reviews

Bordeaux

We explored the city independently and must have walked 15 miles. The Bourse in the evening was an incredible photo op.
