I (Charles) am a person of special needs, i.e. I need a wheelchair for any significant transport. The cruise director (Radim Wajshajtl) made sure I had a wheelchair for every occasion that I needed one. Because of this, I was able to visit most of the sites that intrigued me. My wife, (Isumi), made sure to attend all the other sites to cover all bases. After two-day extended-stay in Berlin (worthwhile), we boarded the Viking Beyla in Magdeburg. The idea of having excursions included in the cruise package is novel and very nice. In addition we had free time which allowed us to go see "The Wild" evening performance (Think shades of Circ de Soleil), and also for Isumi to go see Nefertiti at the Berlin Museum. We also had a chance to go out to local restaurant that Radim recommended. That was just great. We also stayed in a hotel in the center of Berlin for a couple of days on the extended stay option. Also had wonderful accommodations including an excellent restaurant. Among the regular excursions were the Martin Luther home, the Saxon Alps, the Meissen porcelain works, and the Dresden miniatures museum. In Dresden we had free time to go to the opera house to see Mozart's "Marriage of Figuero". Of course, the amenities on board the Viking Beyla were outstanding. We were very happy with the food which was created just for the Germany traveler. Only the last port on the Elbe was inaccessible, which was made up for by a scenic bus ride to Prague. Once again, we think very highly of Radim, and all the crew of the Beyla for a magnificent, carefree, relaxing vacation along the Elbe.
