This is the first river cruise we have take and are now truly spoiled. Viking was amazing...although we were particularly fortunately to be sailing on the newly launched Modi.
Being a latte lover, I enjoyed being able to rise to a hot latte with fresh baked pastries every morning at no additional charge. Meals were excellent - good variety and portion sizes that allowed you to enjoy several courses without becoming overly full.
The shore excursions were top notch. Each of the tour guides was very knowledgeable as well as friendly and entertaining.

What can I say about the en suite: in floor heating, undercounted lighting, soft close toilet seats; what luxury.
Cabin steward very attentive to our needs.
We appreciated that little bit extra room in the veranda stateroom vs the french balcony.

Enjoyed the old town within the walls as well as learning a bit about Natzi Germany.
Found a wonderful glass bead shop just off the main square (fenestra Glazgestaltung) - good prices and wide variety of colours. Bought one necklace and wish I had gotten others in different colours.
Regensburg
Regensburg sausages with sweet mustard (get some to take home) get our vote as best sausages in Germany.
Passau
Very interesting to see the high water marks from 2012 floods.
