Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Rome (Civitavecchia)
We were on board within 15 minutes of arriving at the ship, and greeted with a glass of champagne. We explored the ship a little and then had a lovely lunch at Bistro on Five. The staterooms were now ready and one case was there. By the time we had unpacked the second case had arrived and we had met our excellent room steward, Agnelo
We were in a Concierge Class cabin. The bathrobes and complimentary champagne arrived shortly after.
We headed to the muster drill in the Rendezvous lounge which didn't take too long, and then had a sail away drink at the Ocean View bar.
We had Select Dining for the first time, and ate in the MDR for 7 of our 8 nights. We never had to wait for a table, although we always asked to share and met some lovely people. The food More was good and served hot and the service was excellent. We had the Premium drink package, and our wine glasses were constantly replenished.
The only time we struggled for a seat in the Ocean View buffet was about 8am on the final morning. The food was varied the carvery station was good and the ice cream was delicious.
Entertainment - we went to the 70s night and the Motown night in the Reflections Lounge, however we didn't care for the female singer in the house band so didn't go to any other events there. The Elton John tribute singer was good, as was Leanne Mitchell, a previous winner of The Voice.
Our favourite pre and post dinner spot was the Martini Bar, where we would meet up with people who we had met at dinner.
We had a late disembarkation time as we were spending time in Istanbul, post cruise. We waited in Cellar Masters for our number to be called. There was a bit of a delay due to Turkish immigration.
To sum up - service great, staff friendly and food good. Ship was clean, and showed the normal signs of wear and tear of an older ship. Great mix of passengers on board. We won't hesitate to cruise with Celebrity again. Less
Cabin review: C37200 Concierge Class 3
Our cabin had plenty of wardrobe space and hangers, but lacked wider drawers. Bathroom had plenty of storage. View from balcony down to water was obscured by the covered balconies of the suites below, we wouldn't choose this cabin again.Read All Concierge Class 3 (C3) Reviews >>
