The riverboat was small and had very little activity or entertainment. It is geared toward 75+ of age, so if you plan on staying up past 9:00 p.m. this is not the cruise for you. The M.C. was annoying and pandered to the guests in order to get tips. Very annoyed that they pushed us to give him a large tip at the end of the trip. They sent envelopes to our room with his name on it. They asked for feedback after the trip; it was suppose to be confidential. The cruise director read our confidential surveys right in front of us; I doubt mine got past the garbage can.

The Eastern Europe cruise was disappointing. Romania is run down and there was very little to see or do there. The bus exercusions in Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria were long, tiring and if you travel in the summer, be prepared to sweat since the air conditioning is almost non-existent. One excursion in Croatia they take you to someone's house. Our lady served us cake and was pleasant, but really? You can go to a one room art museum or they can take you to a violin maker (extra cost) where you stand for 45 minutes in a crowded room. There is not a fitness center on board so if you don't mind walking in circles for an hour, you can get a bit of fitness packed in your trip. The tour guides on balance, did not seem to offer too much insight. Serbia is a complete waste of time. I learned more about Serbia reading Newsweek then anything our guide had to offer. The only interesting site was in Hungary, and the hotel we stayed in was pleasant. But we didn't need to book a trip on Viking to see Hungary.

The food, however, was good. The accommodations were disappointing since we thought we were staying in one of those pretty large windowed rooms we saw in the brochure and on television. No we stayed in those portholed rooms under water.
