We have been on several cruises in the Caribbean and this is the best itinerary we have had (especially if you like beaches!). The ship was in good condition. We upgraded to a suite at the last minute. It was the largest room I have ever seen on a cruise ship. It was so worth the upgrade! We enjoyed the Serenity area to get away from all of the noise. We went to the steakhouse and the food was wonderful! The entertainment wasn't as good as we have seen in the past on other cruises, but I think it was because we weren't in the target age group.
We didn't do very many excursions through Carnival because they seemed pricey. Although, we did do the Champagne Catamaran Sail to St John's and it was fantastic! The best excursion we did (not through Carnival) was on Barbados. We booked James and he took us on a private tour of the island. The island is beautiful!! We stopped at one of the beaches and wanted to stay, but some of our party wanted to go back to the ship, so James left us at the beach, took the others back to the ship and then came back and waited on us at the beach. He was very knowledgable of the island and took us wherever we wanted to visit. All in all it was a great trip.
Worth the upgrade! We had so much space and the balcony was wonderful with the amount of space we had. It was located in a great spot on the ship, towards the middle.
