We were told to show up between 1 and 4 because coast guard was conducting an inspection. We had a rental car and dropped off our bags with one of the baggage valets at the port around 10:15 am, tipped her and off we went to return our rental car at the airport and continue sight seeing. From the airport we took the T to the pier in time for the harbor tour. It was a gorgeous day. After than we did the hop on/off bus. We had used a Groupon. After we got on the bus that was to bring us close to the pier, but this driver drove us right to the front door (around 2:45). The terminal was empty and we were on board in no time. BTW, the check in person said everyone was boarding at 12, so much for the delay. We went straight up to WJ. It was okay. We got down to our stateroom 8168 wraparound aft which was lovely. The safe was locked open and the TV remote was missing. A remote was brought in at night and they fixed the safe the next day. Tashia our attendant was very attentive and great personality.

The halls seem to always have had a sewer smell. Toward the end of the cruise, there was some type of “spill” in the cabin across the way, and we had commercial fans blowing on the carpet for a couple of days.

This cruise had come in after a transatlantic and many brits stayed on board. The average age for this cruise I would say was in their 70s. But the passengers on this cruise really stayed up late, as I was out till almost midnight myself most nights and the schooner and King Pub were always crowded as was the casino.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

When I sail on Radiance ships, I also try and get this or similiar corner afts. It had an awesome wrap-a-rounds balcony. It easy fits two lounges, two chairs and a table. Love it. What we didn't love was there was quite a sewer smell on many days and one day the cabin across the way, had some type of overspill. ick. Some may not like the long walk, but I considered it mandatory exercise and was happy to have that long walk, so I could enjoy my meals without feeling too guilty.

Port Reviews

Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island)

A very nice port. We had nothing planned. Just walked into town, found an Irish pub for lunch, went down to Cow's creamery for ice cream where there was a musician playing and singing. Really nice relaxing day in the sunshine.

Sydney (Nova Scotia)

Mega tables in the terminal where everyone jumps on the free wifi. We walked around, found the Governors Pub. I'm a big fan or Celtic music, fiddles and such. Know that when there is a cruise ship in port, the Governors pub does have LIVE music at lunchtime and he was great. fiddle and piano, no vocals though. Then there was a bagpipper outside the terminal playing. It was a very nice stop.
