My sister and I, both 50, sailed from Paris to Prague on the Viking Idun. We were not sure we would like river cruising having only done ocean cruises in the past. Now I don't want to sail anything but rivers! First of all, we were not the youngest ones on the boat so don't be fooled by the stories of river cruises being for seniors only. Being on the rivers made it great to get in so close to the extraordinarily beautiful villages! The food was better than ocean cruises because they don't have to cook for so many people. The staff was professional, helpful, friendly and so much fun. We really got a chance to get to know them and loved seeing their smiling faces each day! We had a room with a balcony and I highly recommend sailing that way if you can. We fed the ducks, sat outside and read, and had wine with new friends. The Viking Idun was perfectly clean at all times. The staff could not do enough to make us comfortable. Perfect experience - highly recommended!!
