We did extensive research before going on the Breakaway and were worried about things we were seeing negatively reviewed before going; but being limited on timing of a vacation and wanting to go to Bermuda we booked anyway. We have only cruised once prior (Disney) and were underwhelmed (food was reminiscent of a bad wedding reception) We decided to go with open minds despite really not enjoying large crowds, being particular when it comes to food and service, and yes-histories of motion sickness.

We drove to NYC and parked right at the dock, we found out later there are cheaper options but it was very convenient and a lot cheaper than flying somewhere.

For the massive crowds of people we were pleasantly surprised at how quickly the process went to actually walk onto the ship (about 1 hour from car to our cabin).

Family Balcony Stateroom

Not very big and the TV stations are not great but for the small amt of time we were there we didn't care. Liked being able to see the map to find out where we were.

Room was clean but we did take disinfecting wipes to clean a bit ourselves when we first arrived.

New York (Manhattan)

quicker than we thought, it was actually easy to get in and out
