Overall Hawaii Islands was a excellent experience. Although we enjoy the cruise a lot, we felt we were nickele-and-dimed for everything. The Photographers were a bit too much, they were everywhere and felt kind of in your face. We was on vacation and didn't like the photographers everywhere trying to take your photo. The prices for these photo's were quite pricey also.
Added gratuity is rude, since there was a mandatory service charge per day and per person. We didn't mind paying the gratuity to the bar services but it was insulting to have a line item for additional gratuities for dining and bar services. The cost for all beverages drinks were too high and also to pay to get off the industry ports in Maui and Kilo was insulting too. If free shuttle or taxi were available it was not clearly found.
At Kauai, the free shuttle and taxis were clear and was a great service. All the excursions were wonderful, although very costly (booked through NCL). Nothing was in walking distance in Maui, that was disappointing but the helicopter ride was awesome (Kudos to Blue Hawaii Helicopter Company). We would recommend this cruise to family and friends but we would have to caution them at the high cost of taking this cruise. Nickel-and-diming customers makes people shy away from trying a cruise this expensive. No service on cell phone was disturbing, internet cost on the ship was outrageous. We would do it differently next time, maybe even go with another cruise line to compare the cost.
For two people cabin was perfect, room stewart was great and attentive. The shower was very small and no counter space in bathroom.
We loved Kona, it was very charming and we would visit it again. This was a port we were tender to and we loved it so much. The area was welcoming and the beach was beautiful.
