We have cruised on RCCL 25 times. We have taken 7 transatlantic cruises, 5 on RCCL and 2 on Celebrity. There were some wonderful things about the Allure and some disappointing aspects. Entertainment was spectacular. Best of any cruise we have taken. That includes the Broadway show, the Aqua show, the ice skating show and the headliner shows. The food in the main dining room was very good. Waiter and his assistant excellent. The activities on the ship were good, varied and well attended and appreciated by the passengers. The Spa was excellent, though it cost $178.00 for the cruise to use the steam and sauna. The cabin was good, but placement of bed so close to the closet not the best. The opposite configuration with bed by balcony sliding doors would work better ( every other room). The end tables on the Allure have no drawers - hence lost storage space. Safe takes up one entire shelf in closet - more lost storage space.
Chops was disappointing. Soup not hot, salad watery, steak under cooked and service poor. The manager agreed it was a bad night and offered us a free lunch at Giovanni's Table. We accepted, and it was very good.
In general the personnel with the exception of the main dining room staff were in attentive and aloof. The lounges for Diamond Plus were inadequate for the number of passengers and the Crown and Anchor representatives were not helpful, available or pleasant. On past Cruises these personnel were always overly friendly, visible and offering great suggestions. The Allure Crown and Anchor staff needs to be replaced.
Excellent tour group to work with.
Walked through town leisurely. Very nice day
