We flew into Hobby airport and stayed at the Hobby Doubletree, which was very nice for the area, but also for Doubletrees. We got to the ship using the Galveston Shuttle which was fantastic for round trip transportation from Hobby Airport.
We've traveled on Carnival, RCCL, Holland America, Princess, and Celebrity. Our favorite cruise line by far is Celebrity, which we compare every experience we have to our experiences with them.
This was our first cruise with DCL.
Cabin Review
Standard Inside Stateroom
The cabin itself was great. However, we were plagued with issues in the cabin, that I feel reflected the age of the ship. The maintenance team was never able to correct the HVAC system in our cabin. When we arrived, it wasn't working at all, which resulted in an unbearably hot cabin.The technicians weren't able to ensure the HVAC system was working consistently, but offered us a fan to use in the cabin, which made the cabin a tolerable experience. Additionally, the toilets stopped flushing during our trip, as well.
