Very pleasant trip...the longship MODI is new this year and the facilities were in great condition. Service in the dining room was very good with a very cheerful and smiling Philipina crew...ladies servicing the rooms were also smiled!..We had some very excellent tour guides and learned European history as a result.

What was disappointing was the inadequate time spent in Budapest and Vienna..Both cities are beautiful and dynamic, and Viking does them a disservice by spending such a meager time in these cities. Spend your own money and go 3 to 4 days earlier to Budapest, stay on the Pest side and tour the city on your own. Viking could have coordinated things better so that we could have seen the inside of the Mathias Church and perhaps gone for an organ recital at St Stephens cathedral, and visited the famous synagogue, but if you did JUST their cruise you would have missed all this. We stayed at the Hilton in the West End area and used the metro, trolley and buses to get around and had a much better feeling for this beautiful city.

Viking needs to improve this cruise instead of just listing the cities/towns visited and making claims to all their beauty, especially Vienna and Budapest, while not providing adequate time in these cities. We loved the stops at the small towns where a day was enough time to see them. A day was certainly not sufficient for Vienna and Budapest; 2 hours for the latter!! Lastly, we could have skipped Bratislava...poor guide and dense fog. The time would have been better spent in one of the big cities.
