I am a single cruiser. This was my 21st cruise, but my first, cruise with Princess, and definitely my last. This review is about the on board experience. Let my start by saying the ship was lovely, the passengers were also very nice. What was the worst was the management of the ship, and its amenities. Understaffed, rude, un-accommodating, and generally unavailable was the staff.

Leaving for Hawaii for Los Angeles was very rough seas, so being that it does not bother me, I decided to book a Massage. Upon entering the very beautiful Spa, I was greeted and escorted by one of the staff to the door to the mens locker room to change. Upon reaching the door I saw to my shock, and disgust that the entrance to the locker room door, and floor, was literally covered with VOMIT. You can imagine my shock when I saw this, so I said to the girl escorting me "but theres vomit all over the door" and she dismissed my comment with a reply "We will take care of that" and motioned me to walk through. I again replied "but theres vomit all over the door". She responded in a very curt tone and replied "I said, We will take care of that, Sir". As if I was being difficult because I did not want to walk through this. NO apology for the mess, no one is site preparing to clean it, just business as usual. I jumped over the mess and went into the mens locker room to find more vomit all over the floor in there, and nobody attending to it. This was the last straw, I spoke to the assistant manager of the Spa. I explained what I had just experienced, and asked how she would have responded to this, and she replied she would never have entered at all. Again, no apology, no offer to compensate me, or any offer to make me feel better. Just business as usual.

Also, in the dining room my waiter service that I experienced was horrible. I ordered a Steak, medium rare, It arrived well done. I called the waiter over, and explained I had ordered my steak, Med. rare, and it came well done. His reply was "Thats impossible!!" I replied, "Are you calling me a Liar?" His response was "Cut It for me, and show me" Which shocked me, that I now had to prove to him that it was true. So I did, and then he finally took it back. I have never been spoken to on land, or sea like that before by a waiter. He was so nasty, as if he had cooked it personally. Since i was at a assigned table, I was afraid to complain about this till the end of the cruise, in case of any more mishandling of my food. I believe he was just too stressed due to the obvious overload of tables he was handling.

This room was really bad for a single traveler. Reason being the room has upper births on either side of the bed. Normally these beds are built into the wall, therefore giving you flush walls. These births are built on to the walls and when closed extend out quite a bit. So when you get in or out of bed, you have to lean extremely to the side to avoid them. And God help you if you wake up in the middle of the night, and forget to angle your body. WHAM!! right in the shoulder. The bed that was two twins pushed together, had no filler in the middle so you would fall into the crack regularly.

Positives,The room was very quite, and there was plenty of closet space, and plenty of hangers.
