Been on Azamara several times. The brand is in the luxury market and priced accordingly and, in this light, I think it has slipped from its original standards. The staff are still very good and attentive but the food quality has just lost its edge compared to other lines like Regent and some of the menus used in Discoveries were worn which is not a good look. As well, the major entertainment is virtually the same as previous cruises which is good for first time cruisers on the line but not so for repeat guest.
Activities still standard and little things like having staff with poor English conducting trivia just doesn't fit the brand and never saw much of the Activity manager. I noticed a deck lamp remained unfixed for three nights and one would think at least one of the officers would have noticed and had it attended to and again one would expect better on a luxury cruise.
The Panama Canal transit was very good and having an ongoing commentary excellent. The Port stop of Aruba was a Sunday so nothing happening really. The Azamara Evening was well coordinated in Columbia and enjoyable as was the deck party for New Year. The port stops in Costa Rica were disappointing but I don't hold the line responsible rather the local authorities who were frustrating to deal with despite the best efforts of the ship management.
