This was a wonderful late fall cruise; weather still very lovely. While the Bordeaux rivers and estuary are not quite as scenic as the Danube or some others - no castles looming in the distance- the itinerary combined many wonderful sights and activities; lots of time in historic and picturesque Bordeaux and some fascinating tours (chateaux, wine tastings, old town explorations, etc.) We took the optional Truffle Hunting tour and it was one of the best excursions we've ever taken in all our many cruises and independent travels.
Also thoroughly enjoyed our french market tour with the ship's very gregarious and talented chef and special gourmet dinner at a chateau - but with the Viking chef and waitstaff still taking care of us!
We had been traveling for 6 weeks independently in France by rental car before the cruise in France, so this was a final week to be pampered and chill out. The truly excellent Foresti staff certainly made that possible. The cuisine was also excellent.
Very comfortable and pretty, efficiently designed and always immaculately maintained by our lovely cabin steward. Nice selection of in-room entertainment.
Good city overview. Would have liked more time at the museum but realize it's something we could have gone back to on our own.
