We have completed 5 varying types of cruises. International cruising - 2 with Princess, 1 with Holland America; European River Cruising - 1 with Scenic; Small ship cruising -1 Around Fijian Islands and have enjoyed every one of them even their differences. This year we decided to try P&O despite a number of bad reviews we had heard and read. We decided to take the Pacific Dawn 4 day inaugral cruise into Gladstone and then on to Tangalooma for the last day.

I am sorry to say that had this been our 1st cruise we may never have done another again but I refuse to let this one cruise with P&O turn me off the type of holidaying we love.

Our embarkation was fine, our room was fine but after that everything went down hill very quickly. We were invited to proceed to the Plantation Restaurant's buffet lunch. There was a large line up of people waiting to choose from a very poor assortment of food and drinks. The windows were so dirty it was useless to try and take any photos. It was then we decided that the buffet was not anywhere near the quality of the buffets on any of our other cruises and that we might have to eat more often in the Waterfront Diningroom.
