It was our second time on Ruby Princess, but the first cruise to Hawaii. We had a great time overall. The ship is old, but clean and not too big. The piazza is smaller then Regal or Royal Princess. We had balcony room on deck14 and it was very small. But the biggest disappointment was the bathroom. The shower was probably the smallest I've seen on any cruise ship, it was hard to get in and I'm not a big person. The buffet was very small and not enough seats in Horizon court. There were not enough public bathroom on the ship, it was always a line to get to female restroom. The food was pretty good ,especially in the specialty restaurants and most of the time in the dining room. The breakfast and lunch selection was the same every day, pizza was ok and burger place near the pool was pretty good. The international café in the piazza was great. The entertainment on the ship was pretty good, production shows were great, comedians were fantastic. The only problem was to get a seat in the theatre for early show, you had to be in the theatre 40 min before the shown to get seats. It was not easy, because it took a long time to have dinner in the dining room. We had anytime dining and most of the time dinner took 2hours and 20min.The service was extremely slow in the dining room. The specialty restaurants were wonderful, great food and excellent service. The majority of the passengers were 68 +.A lot of people with mobility problems. We are in our 40 and we felt like we were in luxury nursing home instead of the cruise ship. The ports were great, wish we could spent more time in each port. The shore excursions we took in each port were very good. Overall it was a great cruise and we really enjoyed, but there is room to improve, especially service in the dining room and variety of food for breakfast and lunch. There were plenty of game shows, there was a night club, the piazza entertainers were amazing. The vines bar was our favorite, we liked vine and the selection was very good and bar attendants were very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions and conducted very nice vine tasting. The 2 vine tasting in the dining room were waste of money, there is no sommelier on board and it was conducted by head waiters and m"atredee. The were plenty of bars around the ship and we had beverage package and tried a lot of delicious cocktails on the ship. I'd definitely recommend this cruise, especially for Hawaii cruise, because it is a great way to see Hawaii and have a very relaxing vacation.
very small room ,plenty of closet space, extremely small bathroom and shower.
just got on the ship, the transfer from LAX to the ship was pretty good.
