The ship was a nice looking ship (just out of drydock), but was extremely lacking in competent servers. I have been on 13 cruises thus far and never have I encountered such obvious lack of informed and trained wait persons. I could give specifics but suffice it to say the staff in the dining room, with the exception of one, were non-attentive, did not have an idea of how to serve on a luxury cruiser, and could not tell me what an item was comprised of on the menu. Unfortunately, most of these were American wait persons.

The food was horrific in that most of what we received to eat did not taste good, was not presented well, and was greasy and/bland. I will say the last two days, the Prime Rib and Beef Wellington was good. Those are the only two days of a seven day trip that we could eat the food. The buffet on top deck had greasy bacon, watery scrambled eggs, and mostly spicy foods and lunch meat. There was no lobster night and my husband and I had to pay $60 for two lobsters off the menu with a lot of tips and surcharges added. The lobster was overcooked and we were given a clump of unmelted butter for it.

This cruise left us with a bad taste in our mouth for NCL. We will never cruise on this cruiseline again and would not recommend it to anyone. We heard many complaints about the same types of things on the ship. If you've never cruised before, please do not think this is what luxury cruising is all about. There are much better shiplines.

Cabin IX

Our cabin steward was very good. We were in cabin 10023. I did like the storage space even though the cabin itself was much smaller than what we were used to on other cruises but that didn't present a problem however.
