Food display. Rothenburg ab de Tauber.
Vehicle in front of Christmas shop in Rothenburg.
30 meter high lock.

My wife and I have travelled internationally a fair amount. First time was in 1976 (London, Edinburgh, Canterbury, Brussels, Amsterdam, Köln, Heidelberg, Munich, Paris) with a Eurail pass and getting hotel rooms at the information kiosk at the railway station. (We are often asked for directions. We must look like we know where we are and what we are doing.)

We have also sailed a fair amount (50 foot bare boat charter in the British Virgin islands, 3 sailboat races to Hawaii etc.) so we are comfortable on the water.

We had done a Viking cruise in China. Wanted to do a river cruise in Europe.

Port Reviews

Nuremberg

took the WW II tour

Miltenberg

Food tour. Regular tour plus wine, food, beer.

Budapest

Very interesting. The stairs to the top of the church were not open. I usually walk up all towers.

Passau

After the tour, we walked around on our own. There was a low zip line for children to play on in the park where the rivers meet.

Koblenz

Interesting old town.

Amsterdam

Included red light district.

Cologne

Interesting views of the area between the river and the cathedral.

Regensburg

interesting.

Wurzburg

interesting

Melk

You cannot take photographs in the library. However, the abbey's web site has photographs and you can grab them for your album.

Vienna

Saw a part we had not seen when we were there in February for the Opera Ball and the Justice Ball.

Bratislava

Interesting small town. The Cathedral is a little out of the way, but interesting.
