We were not keen on going on an ocean cruise and decided we would try a river cruise and choose to go on a Viking Danube Waltz river cruise. We choose December as prices were very reasonable then and we loved the idea of seeing all the Christmas markets in the various towns/cities we were due to visit. We had also booked the pre cruise trip to Budapest and we were glad we did this as Budapest is such a lovely city and it was great to have a bit more time to enjoy this wonderful city.
From embarking on to our longship, Viking Skadi, we got the impression that we were going to have a great time and Viking didn't fail us.
We just had a standard stateroom and there was ample space and facilities for us as we spent most of the time out of our stateroom. As long as we had a comfortable bed, ample storage facilities and good shower we are happy with this. The stateroom attendants kept the rooms spotless and ensured all the toiletries and tea/coffee were replenished daily.
The stateroom was small but it had a lovely comfortable double bed and our cases could be stored under the bed. There was ample wardrobe space and drawers for everything. Bathroom was small but had a great shower and was ample for our needs; the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a pleasant surprise.
Didn't feel there was much to see or do in Bratislava
