Flew Etihad Airways from LHR to Sydney, excellent flight and then stayed at the Shangri-La Hotel for five nights prior to our cruise. Highly recommend the Hotel, beautiful rooms and food was wonderful too.
We did the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb and other tours while in Sydney awaiting our cruise on April 9th. We have sailed on many Celebrity Cruises over the past, almost 7 years, and this was third time on the Solstice. As this ship is 8 years old, I was expecting it to be a little tired, however, not so, it was still lovely, granted some minor repairs were being carried out, but nothing drastic.
As usual, the majority of the staff were friendly and can't do enough for you to ensure all guests have the best time ever. Special thanks to the Guest Relations Manager, Christian Bell and the F & B Director, Mihai Olaeriu, who were real diamonds!
Amazing!! There was only two of us in the suite so absolutely plenty of space for us and no shortage of space for clothes etc.
We hosted a party for around 20-25 people and hired one of the guest entertainers to play the piano and sing, which was just lovely.
Favourite area in the suite has to be the bathroom - it's just so impressive, with double doors entry, a double shower, double sinks and jacuzzi bath with TV.
The balcony is an odd shape, but is fine for two people, however, when we had friends over to sunbathe, it was a little cramped. Much prefer the penthouse on the Millennium Class ships which has over 1000 sq ft of deck and a circular jacuzzi.
It's just another city.
