I have been on other Viking river cruises and enjoyed this one even though it was a river / bus trip due to the low water level of the river. This was my first experience with a Viking Longship. Besides the Eistla, I was also on the Bestla and the Ve. I was only on the Ve for one night. The Ve's staff seemed unprepared for us; I was not taken to my cabin and did not even see my room stewardess.

The cabins were furnished nicely and were kept in pristine condition by the staff. Embarkation was usually smooth, except when we boarded the Ve as the path was muddy with poor lighting.

The food was consistently delicious and the wait staff conscientious on the ships. Some of the arranged meals that we ate, during tours, were not very good. Read more
