This Viking Cruise was the second for my husband and me. We were so impressed with Viking on our first cruise, that we decided to go again. We chose the Danube Cruise because we had heard that the scenery was beautiful.

We did the pre-extension and spent a few days in Prague. Viking met our flight and took us to our lovely hotel. Viking had a desk in the lobby where we were able to have any questions answered. There was a city tour and then we were on our own to explore Prague. It was a great way to recover from our jet lag. We opted for an excursion to Lobkowicz Palace which was a wonderful experience combining lunch, museum and music.

We were transferred to our Port in Passau very efficiently. Our cabin on The Prestige was in the lower level and very comfortable even though compact. The boat is decorated in a lovely streamlined, unfunny style. Everyday we received "The Viking Daily" paper which informed us of weather, events, shore excursions and highlights regarding the city we were in with historical, architectural and other bits of information. The tour guides were excellent. They were people who lived in that particular area and had a real passion for their home. There were activities during the evening that pertained to where we were such as learning about the life of Mozart. Meals and service were excellent.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom with Window

Cabin E

Our cabin was in the lower level with window and no balcony. We had a similar room on our first cruise and felt that it suited us fine. It's less expensive and we are not the type to lounge in our room anyway. I loved the bathroom! It is very compact, yet has lots of shelves for toiletries. The shower is ingenious. The room is very efficient. There is closet drawer space to unpack the suitcases and room for the suitcases under the bed. There is a safe for your valuables. Bedding is European style with 2 duvets and no flat sheet (which I love so much, I've adapted it at home).
