We had never been on any type of cruise, river or ocean. We had been talking about doing a river cruise through wine country with some friends so when we saw Viking offered this opportunity, we decided to try it out. Overall we loved everything about it. The excursions were fun, informative, and well planned. We only wish we had more free time in some of the areas before we had to board the bus to return to the ship.

The ship was a Viking Forseti and was fabulous. The staff was most helpful, courteous and paid attention to every detail. The food was abundant and delicious, only a few of the dinners were a bit bland. We had a veranda suite which was very nice; however many times there was another ship parked next to us so we could not use our patio because our view was blocked. We also extended our trip to Paris and the Viking staff took excellent care of us through the travel transition, getting us to the train station, hotel and airport. They also had a tour in Paris which we went on. I look forward to cruising with Viking again and would highly recommend it.

Having a suite certainly gave us more room than a standard stateroom. Fit our needs perfectly.
