We chose this cruise largely based on the advertising. It is promoted heavily as a 'couples' environment ... lots of shots of couple dining alone, cycling alone, in their cabin with their butler. This is not really the case. There are 160 other souls onboard and it is very hard to enjoy quiet time without a crowd. Although they only photograph couples dining on a table for two, these are actually very rare, and placed so close to the next table of four that it is uncomfortable to not join in with the others. That's not always a problem, but it soon gets tiring repeating/shouting the same conversation ... where are you from? where are you going? how many tours have you been on? The dining room is closed when not in use and there is only one other interior main room so once again you have some crowds, unless you go outside or to your cabin. They do play less than ordinary music though throughout the ship, even outside, so you will not find solice in any public area. They really need a quiet room, which could easily be done if they partitioned off part of the one main room.

The so called 'all day cafe' was very poor, with soggy bain-marie fish and chips and a few cakes. It's not restocked as it goes, but no-one seems to use it anyway.

Food was very average, a mostly unchanging buffet for breakfast/lunch (powdered eggs) and strange 1990's 5 course a la carte. If you don't want the two entrees, be aware you will wait to get your main, until all entrees are served. Very old fashioned desserts with piped cream and mousses. Kinda funny at first but soon gets tiring.

Cabin Review

The cabin was very good. Although we had a balcony we did not use it very often,as the tour did not encompass very much travelling. Most travelling was done in the afternoons and the view was better on deck. The shower was good, even had a retractable clothes line for smalls. Good toiletries. Cleaning and restocking was good. They do not supply a bottle opener and will not supply more than a half bottle of wine in the rooms. Bar snacks very very basic, sm pringle chip can and some wafers. Service to the cabin is limited. Croissants, juice and tea/coffee breakfast. I did get one dinner served in my cabin as they had an on-shore excursion, and I don't think they wanted to open the dining room for the few guests onboard. Very understandable.
