We chose this cruise as Thomson had always been pretty good.
WHAT ON EARTH HAS HAPPENED TO THEM? For a start the food was absolutely abismal. Horrible overcooked vegetables, terrible meat dishes which were sometimes unrecognizable as to what they were, and the salads hardly non-existent unless you love eating lettuce all the time. The desserts were like something you would have at a kids birthday party, e.g. jelly, sponge cakes. I ended up eating cheese and biscuits every night and managed to get decent food when going on shore. By the way even the cheese was the same three types night after night. This is the only cruise I have been on where I actually LOST WEIGHT!
As for the drinks, the wine was served in minute glasses (nearly gone in three sips) but charged at what you would get a decent sized glass in a pub. We ended up buying wine on shore at a fraction of the ones on board.
