We wanted the opportunity to visit Normandy and Paris The trip did not disappoint.

We particularly enjoyed the idea of unpacking once and traveling at night, so that we could spend full days sight-seeing in port cities. The planned excursions...and optional ones as well....allowed us to sample five French river towns, and, of course, see the highlights of Paris. I would encourage anyone to stay-up late and take the optional Paris-at-night bus tour.

We also appreciated the friendly environment and the effort of crew to help the passengers deal with the language barriers. Because I have many food allergies, the dining staff worked with me to avoid the dreaded trip-to-the-emergency-room in a foreign country. In preparation for my meal off-ship in Normandy, a Viking staff member printed a card listing my food allergies in french for me to place on my table. The help was greatly appreciated. Read more
