Sail Date: Jun 2016

We sailed on this boat last year from Istanbul and all around the Southern Greek Islands and we had a wonderful time. I really recommend this type of cruise with this company.

We were really looking forward to this cruise which originated in Seville and was scheduled to go up the coast to Lisbon, stop in Porto and then Bordeaux and on up to the UK where we were to get off.

The cruise on the river from Seville was marvelous. We have driven and hiked along the amazing cliffs of the Portuguese coast and were looking forward to seeing them from the sea. However, that was not to be. The ship sailed so far out in the Atlantic that there was no coast to be seen anywhere. That was a disappointment to us, not being able to see the shore. When we departed Lisbon the captain announced there would be some rough water ahead. We spent 16 sleepless hrs being tossed about in our cabin with cupboards and drawers slamming and glasses crashing and breaking and everything falling on the floor. We were in a lower balcony room where supposedly one doesn't feel the motion as much as the top floors, and I can only imagine how bad it must have been for those above us. The weather is something that can be unpredictable so I don't hold this cruise company responsible for this, however, I do feel that there should have been more communication from the crew to us to let us know how long they were expecting these type of conditions to continue. As it was, we heard nothing which is why I'm giving this trip poor rating. If they were afraid of waking people up (although I don't know who could sleep) they could've slipped something under our doors to reassure us and give us some peace of mind.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

The AC is very loud and is actually just a vent which brings in air from the outside. Even if you close it, the room is very cold. There is no heater on this boat. Even the restaurants and common areas are extremely cold, although it probably depends on the outside temperatures.

The shower is poorly designed so water always seeps over the edge unto the bathroom floor. There should be a glass partition that closes off the shower from the rest of the bathroom.
