This was our fourth trip with Viking River Cruises and once again they did not disappoint. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, until they put us on the transfer to the airport to go home, everything was perfect. The crew, the food, the ship and the itinerary were outstanding.

For those who have never been on a river cruise be aware this is not like ocean cruising. The ships are very small and there is no late night parties, casino or glitzy entertainment. The guests also tend to be older.

Each day the ship will pull up to a dock and a planned shore excursion will take place. You may be able to just walk into town or busses will be waiting to transport you, but Viking makes all the arrangements, so nothing to worry about. Usually it will be a beautiful, old European city or castle.

Cabin Review

Cabin French balcony

River boats are small, so therefore the rooms are small. However, they are well designed for the limited space. Don't plan on entertaining in your room unless you get the suite at the back of the boat.
