Went on a Rhine River cruise, it was great despite a little cool weather & a little snow on the Black Forest tour. did the add on 2 nights in Lake Lucerne, took a boat ride on Lake Lucerne, really helped with jet lag, did our own extension in Amsterdam which was wonderful.

Highlights for me were the Black Forest , Kinderjick to see the windmills up close, Strasborg,France , saw the Storks up high in their nests, now reading a book about the history of the Middle Rhine & all the castles. The huge cathedral in Cologne was very interesting & saw unbelievable pictures of how it survived post -WWll while everything around it was destroyed. Everything went smooth, room was good food was great, nice low keyed entertainment on board, very fun Octoberfest night, definitely plan to go again in the near future. Maybe I will do the Danube next, definitely recommend the pre & post trip, as so worthwhile to see more while you are in those parts of the world.

Our cabin was below the water line but it was fine, one morning , opening the drapes, swans were looking in on us!
