Several friends sang praises about the Viking River Cruise experience, and we found none of them had exaggerated at all. It was a fabulous experience. Our room was lovely and surprisingly spacious, our shipmates were all delightful, the excursions were well-designed, fun, and educational; and we were most happy. The food was excellent-- good choices, lovely presentation, paired well with the wine selections,etc., etc. Great value. The local guides on the included-city tours were so knowledgeable and clearly loved their towns and enjoyed sharing them with the tourists. I couldn't pick a favorite extra excursion: Nuremberg WWII, Mozart and Strauss concert, Benedictine abbey, etc... We are trying to decide where our next cruise will take us, and we are telling all who'll listen about how wonderful the Romantic Danube cruise was. The afternoon talks or the evening entertainment on special nights were great, too. If you've never been on a Viking River Cruise, treat yourself now!!
