Chose the cruise because it went to the destinations I desired.

It was definitely an above average cruise. The room was above industry norms. The bathroom was particularly good including a heated floor and ample space. The amenities were great including free spirits, beer and champagne replenished daily. The design and layout of the ship and it's public areas was superior. The service staff met most of my expectations. Excursions were for the most part excellent and well orchestrated. Only one of my excursions did not meet my expectations.

My only disappoint was with the management of the cruise. I contacted Viking about 2 months in advance of the departure and asked to cancel the cruise in favor of going at a later date. It would have been fine for Viking to retain the fees I had paid and apply them to the same cruise or another cruise at a later date. I requested this because my father-in-law was in ill health and in danger of passing away in the immediate future. The cruise line denied my request and my father-in-law passed away while we were on the cruise. I thought the cruise line was somewhat heartless in denying my request when they could have kept my money and applied it to another cruise.
