25th wedding anniversary trip, Prague to Paris. Pre and post extended our itinerary. Prague was excellent and I suggest pre-extending to enjoy Prague because the Jet lag takes a day to get over. After Prague we traveled by bus to Nuremburg where we enjoyed an excursion tour with an excellent guide. We boarded our ship that night in Bamberg. For the next seven days and nights we enjoyed excellent excursions along the Main, Rhine, and Moselle rivers. What truly made our trip extremely enjoyable was the superb staff on the Viking Odin. I would like to acknowledge the following: Rudolph (our room steward), Dada (the bar manager), Jindra, Lucia (restaurant and bar service), and Noel (Kitchen staff). These Viking employees where professional, friendly, and fun to converse with. I also enjoyed conversing with fellow travelers in the relaxed atmosphere of the Ship.
It was emotionally harder to leave the ship in Trier Germany than I thought it would be.
Paris was somewhat disappointing, getting around via public transportation was rather easy and the attractions (Tour de Eiffel, Arch de Triumphe, Notre Dame cathedral, Palace de Versailles, The Louvre, etc.) are impressive to say the least. The hotel we stayed at was under renovation and sub-par for the level of service we had become accustomed to from Viking. Fortunately the 4 night 3 day stay in Paris made us look forward to traveling home
