I just returned from one of the best experiences one can have, spending 7 days cruising on the Douro river on the Gil Eanes. My experience about the ship was nothing short of spectacular. I cruised with 19 people who are absolutely raving about the food that was served, and the flowing of the drink, which we all took part in, as well as the ambiance on the ship.

The ship itself was very beautiful and the excursions were well done and educational as well! When boarding the ship, we were greeted with smiles and a welcome that made us feel right at home. We had a few people in our group who had "lost" luggage but the crew helped us call the airline and assured us that they would be available to accept the luggage when it was delivered to the ship. Before a day went by, all the luggage was delivered and every room was happy. We got on the ship as passengers and came off as family. They could not have been more accommodating.

We were on board the ship for Independence Day, July 4th. Matthew, the cruise director, spoke to the guests aboard the ship, asking them to help the US passengers celebrate Independence Day and we all sang God Bless America. I felt that was exceptionally warm on behalf of the cruise director. We met people from Germany, Great Britain, and Spain. Everyone was open and friendly. It was just one of the best experiences we could have had. This CroisiEurope product is superior.
