Kudos to the staff and crew of the Viking ship Ingvi!
We embarked on the Ingvi on July 16, 2016 and from the moment we boarded the vessel to the moment we left, we have nothing but rave reviews for their excellent service, professional demeanor and personal interactions.
The embarkation process, including transfer to the boat from the airport, boarding and accommodation while we waited for our cabin to be prepared (we arrived very early, so passengers from the previous cruise were still disembarking), was extremely smooth. During that process, we got acquainted with the reception desk staff, Nikolina, Viktoria and Alexsandre, as well as the Hotel Manager, Krisztina, folks who we would see and talk to daily throughout the cruise. Within a few days they knew us by name AND cabin number and always cheerfully assisted us with whatever issues we were having at the time.
Our cabin was a Veranda stateroom. It was far from roomy, but then, it was on a riverboat, so what's to be expected? It was, however, more than comfortable, indeed it was cozy. By the end of the cruise, it felt like home.
From the under-bed storage to closets and dressers, there was ample storage for all of our belongings, including our 4 suitcases (okay, we didn't pack light...), all of our clothes, and, in the end, all of our souvenirs.
The room included amenities such as: a safe, a refrigerator, power outlets for both US and European devices, ample counter space, and a TV.
There was excellent lighting, with a nice feature: by inserting your room key into a slot next to the door, lighting in the cabin would be restored to the state the it was in when the key was previously removed, so that you didn't have to go searching for light switches in the dark upon entering the room. Cool feature!
Cool stop with several lovely Biergartens. Great cathedral! Our tour guide was wonderful and told us a lot about the city.
Our tour guide for Nuremburg was fantastic. He really knew his city. This was not our favorite city, but it helped to give a more rounded view of Germany than just the cute, small Bavarian cities.
What an amazing excursion. The Residenz was amazingly beautiful, with absolutely spectacular gardens.
