First time on Celebrity which we, an active senior couple, would chose again. After several days in Anchorage, we boarded the train to Seward booked thru Celebrity. We had an extremely comfortable ride in glass-encased car thru fabulous scenery while enjoying reasonably priced food & wonderful commentary. Having done pre-boarding check-in, embarkation was a snap. Our immaculate cabin had plenty of storage, a convenient in-set counter under the large window, quality linen on a supportive bed, handy robes, & very helpful wall shelves for toiletries in the bathroom. Our cabin steward was very attentive tho we rarely crossed paths. We stayed on a lower deck than ever before, very near the information/service desk which was quite convenient. Our cabin/hallway were very quiet tho we were also close to the main dining room one deck above & elevators. We found the ship decor attractive, classic, & well-maintained. Definitely comfortable for mature travelers.

Loved the food! We sailed without assigned dinner seating but changed to set places at a specific time after our fantastic waiter & his assistant impressed us the 3rd night. Also adored the very patient, helpful female wine steward compared to her somewhat abrupt male counterpart on the other side of the dining room who pushed buying costlier wine. Our table for 2 (close enough to others to converse if desired) didn't seem as cramped as the large circular tables. Some diners complained about too-dry fish, & my husband sent back one entree that was too spicy for him, but any unpleasing dish was graciously, quickly replaced. With the ship just out of dry dock, its crew was possibly adjusting to beginning Alaska runs & some new members. During the day we overate on the varied bounty of the Deck 10 buffet. My favorite breakfast was made-to-order eggs/omelet with a heap of lightly smoked salmon. Something new to me at sea were disposable hot cups/lids - wonderful for taking coffee with you. We often carried our buffet food outside to an umbrella table at the rear, actually a 2-level bar especially fine on days at sea. Fantastic fare-included buffet ice cream bar at night!

We highly recommend taking the free tour of the ship kitchens. The very enjoyable musical theater performances were higher quality than expected. I swam short, diagonal laps in the indoor salt water pool as the outdoor one wasn't heated.
