We chose this cruise because it neatly dovetailed with a 2 week tour of France that we were completing on its sailing date. This was our 6th river cruise and we had travelled with Uniworld on the River Countess in Italy a few years ago, and had a wonderful experience on that ship. We found the food on the Baroness to be exceptional, the service excellent, and the excursions to be very informative, although some of the bus rides were overly long (2.5 hours).
Our one complaint about this ship was that the cabins were too small (128 sq. ft. as compared to 151 sq. ft. on the River Countess) and they did not have adequate storage space or room for 2 people to easily move around. There was very limited space to put anything down and there was minimal drawer space in 2 tiny nightstands. The closet was too shallow to close unless you turned the hangers slightly sideways. This was by far the worst accommodations we have had on any river cruise and because of this, while I would recommend Uniworld as a superior cruise company, I would not recommend this ship or its sister ship, the River Ambassador.
