UWe cruised River Danube with Scenic last year, and were attracted by the Rhone one.

It didn't disappoint. We couldn't fault anything about our cruise. The staff were first class - every one of them - and they did it all with a smile! The food was excellent, in quality, quantity and choice. The Captain and crew were friendly and approachable. The Cruise Director worked very hard to ensure that we all had a great time. The choice of trips was well thought out, there was always something for everyone, and the local guides were excellent. Our balcony cabin was kept very clean, and was well planned, with plenty of storage space. The entertainment was varied, and again offered something for everyone. We particularly enjoyed the concert in the Pope's Palace in Avignon.

The only weak links were the guides who met us, and took us back to the Airports at Lyon and Marseille. Neither was very attentive to those who were less able, leaving the fitter passengers to help them. The man at Lyon pointed out the toilets, but didn't wait to see if anyone wanted to use them. He certainly wasn't a good first point of contact for Scenic. The girl who escorted us on the coach to the airport at Marseille, said nothing to us for the length of the journey, except to tell us we were approaching the airport - which we all knew anyway! She left us all, with no explanation, went into the terminal building, and was so long that some people decided to do it for themselves. She couldn't answer any of the questions she was asked. A waste of space! We wonder if these two were free- lancers, as they were of a very inferior calibre to all the other staff we saw in action during our cruise.
