I can't say enough good about this cruise. First, the ship was a throwback to the old British colonial days with teakwood and shuttered doors. We felt like we were reliving history as we along the Mekong. Our room was compact but comfortable. The foods prepared by our chef was exceptional. He prepared special foods daily for those, like myself, with food allergies. The staff from captain to Enrico the Hotel Director to our cabin steward dedicated themselves to passengers having an enjoyable experience. Travelers on this cruise were genuinely nice and everyone seemed to enjoy each other's company. Our tour director Sinh made sure each of us had a great trip. Our local guides were very knowledgeable and informative. They were very candid about life in Vietnam and Cambodia. I couldn't have asked for a better itinerary. This is our third Viking cruise and it won't be our last. Although we've done more than 50 cruises, this was truly a totally wonderful trip.
At first we were given cabin 202. After we arrived, we realized that this cabin was adjacent to the wench for the heavy anchor which made a huge racket each time the anchor was raised or lowered. Fortunately there was a last minute cancellation and another cabin was open. The hotel director moved us into that space. Each cabin was similar, compact but ample in storage and very comfortable. Loved old feel of the ship.
Totally enjoyed the visit. So many things to see
This is why we came. Angkor Wat was the highlight but also enjoyed the other temples as a comparison . Our accomodations were outstanding.
