We have cruised extensively over the last decade, but this was the first time we cruised in US waters. My husband is mobility impaired and I was shocked to discover that nobody on board really seemed to notice and to try to assist my efforts to walk with him or to participate in excursions with him. On the ONE excursion we finally tried, although we were in the handicap seat at the front of the bus, NO-ONE OFFERED to help me get him off or back on the bus. The driver and excursion leader stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched him and me struggle with his cane and with his unbalanced attempts to take those steps. Throughout the cruise, as we entered dining or program rooms, no-one from the ship ever made even one attempt to help me get him seated or in or out of the public room.

We had to call the EMT while on the ship as my husband fell in the cabin, and no-one , except the EMT, from the crew ever followed up nor was additional support offered in any way after that event.

Transfers to and from the cruise ship were also unacceptable. No-one from the cruise company was available in the lobby of the Doubletree Hotel in Lewiston, ID and I was left to my own devices to manage our luggage while I was assisting him. Finally, someone did come to our aid, BUT IT WAS A FELLOW PASSENGER - NO-ONE FROM THE HOTEL OR CRUISE COMPANY OFFERED ANY ASSISTANCE.
