Occasion for the trip was our honey moon, so we decided to have a cruise because I already had experience with cruising, and my wife was interested.
The cruise was chosen due to new big ship, good rate and interesting ports of call. The route was announced as a trip from Athens to Rome trough Santorini, Kushadasi, Mykonos, Malta and Portofino. When we came onboard we were surprised that route was changed, so 4 of 5 ports are changed. I knew that changes are possible, but not so dramatically.. (to be honest the change was announced in advance, but our travel agent didn't considered it necessary to inform us). Anyway most of all ports were new for us, so we didn't mind.
Embarkation: we arrived to the port about 4:30, so there were no queues. We received cards, and came directly to the cabin, luggage also arrived very quickly. I was surprised, because I expected some introduction, but nobody cared. Luckily I knew what to do, so we registered credit card and received all the stuff. But eventually nobody asked us if we're in honey moon and there was no congrats from crew, so we were upset:(
Don't try to walk up\downstairs! Never! Use lift or at least donkeys
Cool fortress and very cute old city, but rather small
Typical small mediterranean place. Try greek food and buy local spices,
Nothing to do in the city. Vulcan excursion should be good, but we didn't try
Fortress and small beach next to it, , local bars with aperol spritz and snacks
Oh, come on, that is Rome!
