This was our 4th riverboat cruise, 2nd with Viking. We selected "Portugal's River of Gold" itinerary for our 50th Anniversary celebration because we had never been to Portugal before. Our pre cruise stay at Hotel Tivoli Lisboa in Lisbon was excellent, the hotel, hotel staff, and it's location could not have been better. The thing we like best about river cruising is how everyone on board, including the staff, gets to know each other and feel more like a family than just passengers traveling together. The food and presentation was wonderful. The Cruise Manager and her staff made every effort to make our cruise enjoyable, entertaining, and informative. Everything about the Riverboat Viking Torgil and it's staff exceeded all our expectations. Our post cruise extension in Santiago de Compostela was great and we want to return to this beautiful city again some day. We highly recommend Viking River Cruises for all who want to see and feel apart of European history.
