This is our 3rd Viking River cruise.. we keep coming back! They know how to do it well from great personal service, interesting itineraries, pleasant dining and good company.

Having already visited Amsterdam on a previous trip we saved the tour extension to the end and Lucerne.. not to be missed. If you have not been in Amsterdam before.. it is well worth spending an extra 2 days even though Viking does an abbreviated tour on the day of arrival. The same with Lucerne, you never know when you will return.. take full advantage of this beautiful city. You won't easily forget it.

Sailing through the Rhine valley was awesome, the landscape alone is amazing. The outdoor top deck experience is lovely, plenty of room to view, no crowding at the railing to see what is next. There are shaded areas if needed, lounge chairs and comfortable deck chairs with staff available to bring your favorite bar beverage, or you can bring up a cup of a variety of drinks available at the 24 hr. coffee station!! . At each port a guided tour is available, from the slower paced to the runners. Optional excursions are also offered depending on your interests.. pricey but the guides are what it is all about.. they really cater to the individual group. As mentioned in many other reviews, this is an older age group on the whole. It is a relaxed pace, we are not looking for show stopping entertainment but have enjoyed the small lounge like reviews while on board. The pre and post hotels are top notch, a Viking rep is always available to assist. On all 3 trips our tour manager was excellent.. they couldn't do enough for you.. and if there were any problems, they were quickly addressed. Arrival and departure are expertly handled. The crew is courteous and very helpful, especially after a long night of travelling. We highly recommend Viking and are happy to review.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Stateroom

Cabin E

Small but well designed. Most of your time is spent outdoors on deck or on tour. The beds are very comfortable, bathroom a bit tight but quite manageable.. you are on a boat!!!! the cabin stewards are the best... we have enjoyed our experience with each one of them!!!
