We chose this cruise for two reasons, firstly it was a new ship and secondly the destinations. Although we had cruised many times and had taken 6 previous trips with Carnival we had never cruised in the Mediterranean and thought it would be nice to visit the noted ports of call.

The ship was not a disappointment, very well appointed, well maintained and with a good variety of places and activities to be enjoyed. The décor theme was a bit simple and "plastic" in some areas and navigation of the main activity decks was a bit difficult sometimes, requiring an "up and over" route.

The embarkation process at Athens was excellent as we were 60 minutes from our hotel lobby in Athens city centre to being in our cabin.
