We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and based upon Vikings advertising. We have been on about a dozen river boat and this was the most disappointing.
First, while the were breakfasts were well done, both lunch and dinners were not only limited in selection, but also below par, quality-wise. In 30 years of travel, only once before did I return an entrée. On this cruise, I did so twice. Almost without exception, the red meats were tough and tasteless. Wine and beer flowed freely with the meals, a plus.
There was a limited amount of actual river cruising. This was not all bad because there was basically nothing to see, except woods, as we sailed. In addition, the itinerary was rearranged which was somewhat confusing, although we did have the opportunity to visit each port, as advertised.
Our cabin was nice and adequate in size, with the exception of the bathroom sink area that was extremely limited. Note that deck names are misleading. The lowest category of cabins , those at water level are on the lowest passenger deck, that Viking has named the "main deck". What I would call the main deck is named the "middle deck". Misleading!
