Wanted to see Budapest, Vienna and Prague in a relaxed fashion. Half way thru the cruise we were told a barge had run aground so the remainder of the trip would be on coaches. Avalon Expression was then used as a hotel base. The coach trips were too long and seemed structured to minimise cost.

While a refund of the remainder of the cruise was offered it could not be taken as we had the Prague extension and there was no offer regarding transport to a place where flights could be taken.

The coach ride to Prague started too early and could have included a lunch at a town along the way. However it seemed that we needed to get off the boat to allow time for the crew to prepare it for the next group and the minimum hire time for the coaches was allowed. When we arrived at the hotel outside Prague we we told we would have to wait 2.5 hours to get into our rooms. The Corinthia hotel also had air conditioning and plumbing problems.
